“Toolangi means "tall trees" in the indigenous language. It is a wonderful community with no traffic lights and parking inspectors. Instead, it is a town full of rural mountain charm. Toolangi Tavern is the heart of this town. Go here for drinks and nightlife. It opens from Tuedays to Sundays (10am - 10pm). Closed on Mondays. ”

Salon de thé
“Nestled deep within the serene landscape of the Dandenong Ranges is a gorgeous little township called Sassafras. The perfect destination for a day trip with numerous restaurants and niche stores such as Geppettos Workshop, unusual gift shops, a nursery, a new age store and even an old school lolly shop. However, the one place you cannot allow yourself to walk past when visiting this cute little town is the famous Miss Marples Tea Room. Set in a purpose built Tudor style building this restaurant plays homage to the memory of Agatha Christie's novel character Miss Marple, Perfect down to every detail including floral curtains and matching tablecloths, Miss Marple memorabilia and even dozens of porcelain teapots, some quite comical, lining the walls of the dining area. Don't eat breakfast before you come here as you will need every little bit of spare room in your tummy to eat at Miss Marples. From a Ploughman's lunch to home made pies you can expect your eyes to be bigger than your tummy. You can then top off your wonderful meal with a delectable dessert. Mind you if you just want scones Miss Marple does them well too.”
