Affectionately known to locals and "The Chip". The original champion of Scottish produce, this is legendary for its cuisine and lengthy wine list. Named to poke fun at Scotland's culinary reputation, it offers a French touch but resolutely Scottish ingredients, carefully selected and following sustainable principles. The elegant courtyard space offers some of Glasgow's best dining, while, above, the cheaper brasserie (longer hours). There are also 2 bars.

Sightseeing

Aerodynamic 100 meter tower next to the Glasgow Science Museum. The tower is shaped like a wing and can turn 360 degrees. They turn the tower for stability depending on the prevailing winds. A very modest motor turns the whole tower (or a group of a dozen people could turn the tower). The platform area is relatively small but has great views down the Clyde River toward City Center as well as the University of Glasgow which is across the river and the surrounding countryside. Guides provide lots of useful information about the construction of the tower. Definitely worth visiting if you are in the area (either the Science Museum or the Riverside Museum. Check it's open.
