From our house it is 5 minutes drive to the nearest beach. public transport is not regular so getting around can be difficult.

There are many things to do that are free

Walks, swims, fairy trails. The Kerry Way is a famous walking route and there are many paths to follow in the area

Rain gear, towels, togs

It often rains in this part of the world so be prepared. Walking boots are a must and good rain gear. A hot summer's day in Ireland is 22 degrees so bring your layers

Fir and Mna

In some places the toilets are named Fir and Mna, Fir is Men and Mna is Women ! Grand is another word you will hear a lot. If you want to learn an Irish word use Slawn (means goodbye)

Relaxed

Things are pretty relaxed in Ireland, always say hello and please and thank yous go down well. Using mobile phones in company can be frowned upon by some. Remember to drive on the left side of the road. Tipping is not always done but if you get good service usually leave a 10% tip but not necessary either !
