Food Scene

Gastro pub, good food, local ales with large beer garden overlooking the Axe Estuary. Not so good if you just want a drink unless it's warm enough to sit in the beer garden.

Iconic landmark in Lyme Regis. Well known for the French Lieutenant's Woman film. You can walk along the top of the harbour wall weather permitting. In Lyme you can search for fossils either on Monmouth Beach or between Lyme and Charmouth. Beautiful views east along the stunning Dorset coast. Lots of places to eat including HIX Oyster and Fish House.

A lovely walk from Uplyme right down into Lyme Regis. Takes about 40 minutes down and an hour up. A delightful walk following the river Lim through woods, a field and on into Lyme. Park in the Village Hall car park, cross the road and follow the signs from the Talbot Inn pub. If you walk back via the main road, you will pass the Black Dog Tea Rooms, a great place for home cooked refreshments.

A seven mile (approximately) walk which you can start from Foxhole and get the bus back to Axmouth or vice versa. You will need good walking boots and take plenty of drinks and food as there is nowhere to stop en route. Though a lot of the time you don't see the sea, this is an interesting walk. It takes you through the undercliffs where on 25 December 1839 there was a huge landslip causing great chasms.
