Start from the west exit of Ikebukuro station.of there are karaoke. Izakaya and restaurants. sky view at sunshine 60 building. also the sunshine street has cinema, arcades and shops. I recommend Zoshigaya area for walk from Ikebukuro. Its 30 mins walk from Ikebukuro station. you will have nice walk with completely different atmosphere with Shrine and locally old shops.

very little bars are gathering in this area. a lot of bar staff are speak a bit of English. its quit fun to walk around and take photograph too.
