Super day out for younger members of the family. Children can feed the deer and small animals, drive mini tractors around, lots of activities. A little bit further away, up to twenty minutes' drive but worth it if you have littles to entertain.

Kimmeridge Bay is a gem of the Jurassic Coast, great for rock pooling and fossil hunting, with a visitor centre, super new museum and a pub opposite for a great pub lunch. Be prepared to pay a small sum (currently £4) to drive down to the beach.

Beach
Ringstead Beach is the locals' favourite, although pebbly, not sandy, there are huge boulders to climb on and a shallow reef to paddle out to. The car parking is around £4 for non-members and there is a fun cafe and shop.

It's worth the longer drive, about half an hour, to this lovely sandy beach with a National Trust car park, but be sure to get there early in high season. Old Harry Rocks are nearby for great walking. There is a cafe too, but it's a perfect picnic beach.

Good local places to eat!
This is our local pub, in walking distance by the footpath if you are up for it (but you may like a lift home!) the food is usually good and there is a huge garden with seating and a playground for the children. Disabled parking spot and a good ramp through the front door.

This new development in Dorchester has a cinema, Pizza Express, Carluccio's, Wagamamma, Nando's & Cote, as well as some super shopping. Try the car boot sale in the market opposite on a Sunday morning and then pick a place to have breakfast.
