This is your neighbourhood. Apúlia has great beaches and is a peaceful neighbourhood. With morning markets all over town that offer fresh fish & produce. The beach pathway that starts by the Mills where our apartment is located is a great way to explore the sea front of Apúlia.

5 minute walk away from the apartment. Cedovém is a small fishing neighbourhood in the outskirts of Apúlia. There you will find a beautiful remote beach and also a strip of great restaurants to choose from. Because these restaurants receive the fish directly from the fishing community in Cedovém you can expect fresh and delicious fish dishes.

Avenida Marginal Cedovém5 minute walk away from the apartment. Cedovém is a small fishing neighbourhood in the outskirts of Apúlia. There you will find a beautiful remote beach and also a strip of great restaurants to choose from. Because these restaurants receive the fish directly from the fishing community in Cedovém you can expect fresh and delicious fish dishes.
10 min away by car/transport. In Esposende there are a couple of museums and a lovely 17th-century church. While to the east it is dominated by granite mountains, where religious sanctuaries and ancient villages like the Castro de São Lourenço rest.

Sightseeing nearby
Without doubt the most characteristic landscape of the town of Apulia is its windmills ("moinhos" in Portuguese), which are found dotted along the coast, on the boardwalk and beach. Beforehand they were used for grinding corn grain (flour mills), using as a driving force strong winds that take advantage of the sea breeze in this coastal area. These mills are privately owned and have been converted into beautiful holiday homes.

Apúlia has many different beaches. For families I would recommend the beaches south of the mills which are lifeguarded during Summer. However for people who like beaches that are less busy I would recommend the ones north of the mills near Cedovém.

A wonderful historical place from the the Roman times. The ruins shed so much light on the Roman occupation of the area. Settled up the hill in the woods. Great place to spend a few hours away from the "Modern" world.

Breakfast/Afternoon Tea
Great place to have your breakfast with good selection of pastries. Only 5-10 min walk away from the accommodation. However, if you really want to taste great Portuguese pastries I would recommend Marbella in Esposende.

Camelo is a restaurant just 3 minute walk away from the apartment. It offers great food and great views of the mills of Apulia. It is more on the expensive side but worth it.

A bit further away but 15 min by car… Located in Esposende. This restaurant is very popular as the dishes are quite unusual but tasty!

Unmissable Sightseeing in the North
This iconic mountaintop church has a small museum & dome offering panoramic views of the whole city of Viana de Castelo.
I would recommend also visiting the old town of Viana do Castelo afterwards.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site and a must visit in the northern Portugal region.
To have the full experience I would advise to ride the iconic elevator that works through an ingenious water system developed in 1882, no electricity is used! Also going up or down the iconic staircase is a must!

A medieval bridge crossing the River Lima dates back to 1368, but there has been a crossing here for much longer and this is where the town gets its name from.
The bridge actually still contains five arches from the old Roman bridge which presumably dates back to the 1st century.
A must visit if you have the means to go.

Porto is definitely a great city to visit. I would recommend staying there for a day to be able to see the main sightseeing attractions.

In the National Park of Gerês you will find beautiful waterfalls and natural thermal waters. An hour and 30 minutes away from the apartment.
