Pikes Peak Summit House
Because it's a 14,000 ft mountain!
Really great views of the mountains and close up views as you hike among red sandstone outcroppings on this maze of trails. Convenient to Highway 24 between Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs and a lot more reasonable on your body than the Manitou Incline.

This easy to drive through park in the mountains offers mountain hikes, streams, locally famous falls, picnic spots, and a nature center. Our favorite hike is Cutler Trail. You'll be rewarded with views over Colorado Springs and Helen Hunt Falls. Pack a picnic and choose a secluded point at the top.

With a great Happy Hour M-F and Sunday dinner special (buy two dinners, get bottle of house wine $10), this underground restaraunt is open until 1:00 a.m. Cool, atmospheric place with walls of stone. Great place for a romantic drink and dinner.

We've taken a family group here and everyone has loved their dish. Quirky, comfort food. My fave is the bison poutine made with the waffle fries. It may be on the appetizer menu, but it's a big meal. Share it if you're with someone nice!

One of my favorite thrift stores. All profits go back to local Episcopal churches and are given to local and world-wide charities. Higher-end finds are frequent.
