Highly recommend R House for a slightly fancier (but not stuffy) dinner option. It offers incredible, home-cooked food and even better hospitality. The owners (Juan & Gisela) welcome guests as if they were in their home. To top it all off, you can’t go wrong with the wine list.

Woodstock Cafe offers both casual lunch options and more upscale dinner options. We never pass up their delicious hand cut pasta specials. You can also find a small wine and beer shop with an awesome selection of local options. Don’t miss the dessert case!

Woodstock Brew House is a great spot to grab lunch, drinks, or dinner. This is our favorite local brewery. It also offers a great outdoor patio area, which makes a perfect spot to grab a drink on a nice day.

Bryce is only 20 minutes from North Mountain A Frame. Skiing in the winter and mountain biking in the summer. Stop at the restaurant, the Copper Kettle, for great views of the mountain.

There are lots of nearby vineyards, but Muse is our favorite. Not only is the wine top notch (try the Clio!) but the constantly changing menu is always a treat. Sit outside on the patio and enjoy expansive views of the Massanuttan mountains and some live music. Keep an eye out for vineyard dog Emma!

Lake Laura is a great spot for a relaxed walk or a dip on a hot day. The walking trail that traces the perimeter of the lake is a little over two miles. In the summer, Lake Laura offers swimming and boat rentals. Only 15 minutes from North Mountain A Frame!

Kennedy Peak is a relatively easy hike that offers great views with not much climbing. The first half of the appx. 6 mile hike follows a ridge line. The second half is moderate elevation gain, with increasing steepness toward the very end. The view at the summit offers sweeping east and west facing views.

We much prefer Little Schloss to the much more crowded Big Schloss. It’s a slightly more challenging hike but equally as gorgeous views from the top. We normally have the entire trail to ourselves!

Orkney Springs offers a historic hotel and a variety of hiking trails. Stop in the hotel lobby for a trail map. For a challenging hike with the best views in the county, we recommend the Stairway to Heaven trail!
