Natural rock formation
Just down the hill from Hill Street House is Jasper Knob. (A 15 second drive away) Drive down Hill Street, when you turn right you’ll be facing Jasper Knob straight ahead. There is a rock wall and rock steps leading to the trail. A 3-4 minute uphill hike takes you to the top of the largest exposed wavy jasper formation in the world. Great for the view and rock hounds will love the rock formation. This is literally a hidden gem!

Must see natural rock formation on the shore of beautiful Lake Superior. An easy and beautiful hour drive from Hill Street House is Pictured Rocks. You can hike to the shoreline or take a scenic boat cruise out to the rocky cliffs and beaches.

Amazing singletrack
Take a spin on the amazing RAMBA Trail system. Challenge yourself to some of the best singletrack riding in the Midwest on the Range Area Mountain Bike Association trails in Ishpeming and if that isn’t enough all of Marquette’s trails are a short drive away. Miles and miles of trails with everything for beginner to expert riders and hikers are also welcome. You’d need a few weeks of nonstop biking to sample all of the amazing singletrack mountain biking in the area! Plan accordingly!

Some of the best singletrack mountain biking in the midwest is the result after the rich mining legacy left outstanding technical riding features! Hiking abounds and there are lakes and woods in every direction. Great destination for winter sports as well with plenty of snow for snowmobiling, cross county skiing and snow-biking with groomed trails for all winter activities. Also home to the US Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame and Suicide Hill Ski Jump. And don’t miss the opportunity to stop into Da Yooper Tourist Trap while you’re in town!
