Cute town to visit in all seasons. Good access to Lake Superior or to get lunch. You can walk from the town along Lake Superior to the West and visit the Sable Falls withing Pictured Rock National Lakeshore - about 1.5 miles one way.

Great location for a meal after the Pictured Rocks boat tour, just walk up from the parking lot. They have bison burgers plus a selection of other options. They have thick cut french fries which I like. It is a veteran owned businesss.

Great view of Lake Superior and the Grand Sable sand dunes. The walk from the parking lot to look out is easy. If you choose to go down the dune to the lake, it is a big workout to climb back up to your car.

You can walk to the Sable Falls from the park's Visitor Center or walk the beach from Grand Marias. Sable Falls tumbles 75 feet over a cascading slope of Munising and Jacobsville sandstone formations on its way to Lake Superior. Leashed pets allowed.
