If you're Mormon this is a must-stop, if you're driving by a building on I-5 that looks like a Disney Castle it's the LDS Temple. Amazing architecture.

If you're travelling with your dog take him or her to Ocean Beach to cool off... both kid AND pet friendly, Ocean Beach is a fun place to go and turn your dog loose off the leash :-)

Besides the beach also roller coaster and fun games for kids. Best during daylight hours - this area can get a little bit sketchy at night.

This is the best beach around - the sand is soft and it tends to be a little less populated than the mainland beaches. Also some great little shops and the historic Hotel Del Coronado.

LOVE this place - a must stop before you go. Beautiful scenery and you can usually get some fun pictures of the sea lions in the tide pools.
