Food Scene
This has always been one of my favorite places to go for a beer or three but now it's a great place to eat too. The shrimp and grits are my favorite and they're only $15, half of what you'll spend at other places! Watch dolphin swim in the creek while you wait with a cold drink in your hand. Bar tables are first come first serve and is usually the best way to go.

Page's is a great place. The food is excellent but can get quite expensive. Be prepared to wait for an hour at least.

Great food and cold beer in a laid back atmosphere. Not very expensive and they have live music outside on the patio in the evenings.

Hyman's is considered a tourist trap by many but it really is a great place to eat and the prices are reasonable, but not cheap. The Crispy Flounder is my favorite and it's a ton of food too. if you're spending the day downtown I would definitely recommend this place for dinner. Like every other good place though, you should expect a long wait (maybe an hour).

Another level of BBQ! It's not cheap but it's worth every penny. Definitely a place you must visit if you like great BBQ and sides. Brisket, mac&cheese, collards and cornbread!

Excellent food at good prices, just a short walk from our house.
It's the big blue bus by the church at 6th Ave and Mathis Ferry Rd. It's not open every day, so if you see it, make sure to stop in.

I remember going to the Yorktown as a little kid and it was always fun. I've gone a few times since with friends and family and everyone has a good time taking in all the history.

Great public boat ramp in the neighborhood. Weekends can get crazy so if you plan on dropping in your boat make sure you get to the ramp early to get a spot. The parking lot fills up by 10am on a nice weekend day in the summer.

A great place to visit. There's a huge playground for all ages and a huge pet friendly park. Take a walk out on the pier for great views of Charleston Harbor and do some fishing. Everything you need to catch the big one is available to rent at the pier store. You can also grab some cool souvenirs and a light lunch or ice cream.
