Timberlake Village has some cool restaurants, an art gallery, little boutique shops and kids play areas. It's a rad little spot for a coffee and a chill. Try the German sausage in a roll if you're feeling hungry for something lekker.

This place is pretty cool for some lunch on the river side - it's about 20 minutes drive from us, they have a kids play area too...
...and it's on the way to Buffels Bay, which is a really nice beach for a day visit. Can do some walking there or chilling on the long stretch of sand. Is a pretty safe swimming beach.

This place is pretty cool for some lunch on the river side - it's about 20 minutes drive from us, they have a kids play area too...

At my place you'll be staying walking distance from Kleinkrantz beach. It is absolutely beautiful - amazing cliffs along the sand, great sunsets, great day walks, active sea life.. You could even do a beach walk from Kleinkrantz beach to the East side of Wilderness beach (it's about 4 km), with swims and rock pools along the way - just aim for low tide.

Victoria Bay is definitely worth a visit. Very safe swimming bay, beautiful hillside surrounds - nice short walk to a rocky point where you can watch the surfers about 50 meters away. You can grab a burger or breakfast at the restaurant there too. It's a good spot for a day visit or even just a morning or afternoon swim.

The Half-Collared Kingfisher Trail is an absolute beauty of a hike to a waterfall. It's about 90 minutes each way (depending on your walking speed), and there's a pont crossing the river at a point that's quite fun.

There are a few random picnic tables at the start if you just want to go sit in nature for a while with a flask of tea and a book.
River Swims
The Touwsrivier is great for conoeing and swimming. It's really an incredible stretch of water. You can pay to picnic at Ebb and Flow rest camp, or just find a spot along the river to go for a dip.

There's a few paragliding spots if you want to try that out, they do tandem flights. There's a launch from Kleinkrantz beach, a short walk from the cottage. Otherwise there's a few other launch places - one is by Map of Africa view point.

If you want to venture further out, Robberg is an incredible place for a day walk. Really, it's incredible, like Jurassic Park vibes at times.
