Nice stop along the parkway for a view and drink. There is a restaurant but I would stick with appetizers and hit Asheville for better food. Only open April-October. Check website for exact dates.

Beautiful drive up 276 to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Looking Glass Falls is right next to the road for lazy waterfall access. There is a staircase to the bottom and you can walk down river and be alone.

Olmsted was the landscape architect, he also designed Central Park. Try to buy your tickets online for a better price.
