Built in 1230 Criccieth Castle is a must see. The views from the top are stunning. Criccieth is a thriving little town with lots of quirky shops and eateries. You can walk there along the coastal path, or it's a short 5 minute drive.

A lovely little village in the heart of Snowdonia. Visit the grave of Gelert the dog and walk along the fast flowing river and finish off with a tasty flapjack and coffee in Caffi Colwyn next to the National Trust Shop.

If it's 'off the beaten track' you're looking for, look no further than Porth Ysgaden. Approachable from an unadopted road, the views are amazing on a clear day. Visit the old fishermen's cottages and watch the bird life as it nests in the cliff faces. If you're lucky you'll see dolphins swim past. Take a picnic or visit Cwrt Tatus for a coffee.
