This route is a beautiful example of the rural Vermont landscape and beautiful in every season. We love the stretch starting at the end of 66 and taking a right toward South Royalton.

We love this place!! It is twenty minutes from the cottage, but worth the drive!! With a vegetarian menu that combos a brewery it might sound odd, but even for non-vegetarians the food menu will not disappoint you and neither will the brews and views. Take 12A to Bent Hill. A beautiful scenic drive.

Roma's is a butchery, but it also serves lunch and dinner. If you are looking to BBQ non-veggie this would be a go to for that. They do have some options for non-meat eaters if you are going for lunch.

You need a car
You will need a car to get to the cottage. It is also the most practical way to experience what Vermont has to offer. There are, however, many wonderful roads for biking and Amtrak does service out of Randolph. Heading North that train makes stops to Montpelier, Waterbury and Essex Junction.
