The remains of a three-storey-high castle keep and modern museum. Built in 1186 by Robert de Lacy, the Norman keep of the castle is reputed to be the second smallest in England. There is free access to the grounds and a small fee for the museum, with excellent views of the surrounding area. There are many shops, cafes, bars/restaurants on the high street.

The Trough of Bowland is a valley and high pass in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Lancashire, England. It is excellent for hiking, cycling and enjoying a drink at nearby pub such as The Inn at Whitewell. We highly recommend Langdon Grill food truck where the Hairy Bikers visited!

Brockholes is a 250 acre nature reserve, just off the M6 motorway. It has the UK’s first floating visitor centre. You can walk along the River Ribble, explore the ancient woodland or amble around the lakes. There is a cafe and ice cream cabin.
