Beautiful place, next to Esrum Abbey. You can go for a walk around the lake.
Esrum Abbey was one of the most important Abbeys in Denmark in the Middle Ages and was in function until 1559. It has been renovated and there is a nice exhibition, there is an outdoor herbal garden and there are many children friendly activities. I can also recommend to eat lunch at "Møllecafeen" which is situated next to the Abbey (https://www.esrum.dk/forside/mad-butik/moellecafeen/).

You can drive to Asserbo Castle in about 20 minutes. Asserbo castle was founded in the 12th century by Bishop Absalon. The castle was deserted in the 16th century and has, since then, mostly withered away. There are only a few remains of the castle to be seen today. However, there are plans to restore the castle.
After you see the castle, you can go for a walk in the nearby Tisvilde Hegn.

Arresø, the biggest lake in Denmark, is situated about 20 minutes drive from the summerhouse. You can stop here on a trip to Esrum Abbey. You can go for a walk along the lake.

Nice place to go for a coffee, lunch or dinner. Also, there are pigs and horses in the garden to see for children. Beautiful place.

Beautiful place with homemade berry ice cream, coffee, muffins etc. You can buy home-grown berries, including strawberries, raspberries etc.
There is a garden where you can sit and that also has a playground for kids. Very kids-friendly place.
