Try this bakery (left side entrance). They have the best apple croissants! Go early so they are right out of the oven.
There is also a full service restaurant (right side entrance) attached. My favorite there are the pizzas for lunch or dinner.

Oakwood beach
It's 3 blocks from my house. So beautiful for a morning walk, jog on the trails, tip your toes in Lake Michigan or for a DIVY bike ride (divvybikes).
Simply make a left out of the house and walk to the corner (which is 41st). Make a right and walk straight for two blocks. There you will see a huge blue bridge. Take it over the freeway and you will be right at the beach on the other side. Enjoy!

Be sure to lock your car doors at night if you are parking on the street. I check mine daily and never leave stuff on the seats. :) #Chicago
