Recently renovated and re-opened the Newtown Hotel is back. This place has it all. A pub downstairs, a restaurant on the upper floor with balcony overlooking the street & an outdoor Tiki bar out back!

Only 100 metres from our apartment building is the impressive Sydney park. A massive green space with plenty of views towards the city. Heritage listed chimney stacks on site add a historic touch.

Looking to get a great hair cut whilst in the area? Dirty Girl Hair (love the name) located in Newtown is definitely the place to go. A glass of wine on arrival is a nice touch - ask for May!

My new favourite place to eat! A modern take on tapas and sharing plates in a small, cosy atmosphere. Great home made soda's, cocktails and a good selection of wine. Dessert is a must!

I usually steer away from big chain restaurants but Sushi Train always seems to get it right. Fresh, tasty sushi and sashimi without a ridiculous price tag.

The pastries at the place are amazing and the coffee is pretty good too! The best thing is it's less than 50m from our door!

The meals here are amazing without carrying the ridiculous price tag that many cafes can. Homemade baked beans served with chorizo and sour dough bread is just $11 and that's just the start!

When you think Turkish food do you think kebabs? Pasha's show that Turkish food is so much more by serving up traditional meals in a cosy and intimate setting. It is BYO, which is even better.
