Famous place for coffee and beignets. Its basically fried dough with a bunch of powdered sugar on top but it comes out hot and fresh. The line is super long in the morning but its open 24 hours, I recommend going at night for dessert. Don't wear black because you will get powdered sugar all over you haha.

Good food and nice place to sit down only a few blocks away. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. I've never had to wait for a table and if you are a couple you can usually get a table by a window. They also have outdoor seating. The stuffed pepper and the meatloaf are pretty good. They have some more Cajun style dishes as well. Anyone can find something on the menu here.

Opened in 2016 this place is a big open indoor market with probably about 15 different kitchens and shared seating. Its an incubator for restaurants that are just starting up. There is a bar and they do sell bottles of wine here but if you want a cheap date you can bring a bottle of wine! This is a great casual place to go if you have a group of people and you all want different things. They have a bakery, smoothie bar, oyster bar, Korean food, Cajun food, crepes and more! I like the bimini bowl and the Korean place.

Really good Poboy restaurant and bar in the Bayou St. John neighborhood. Lots of outdoor seating or you can take it to go and picnic along the bayou just a block away! The bayou is beautiful and here you can see people playing music, volleyball, grilling, walking their dogs, etc. Also people are canoeing, stand up paddleboarding and kayaking in the bayou! Small alligators are spotted every once in a while but its not really something to worry about.

Great Italian food. Really like the warm and cozy vibe of this place. They give you crayons for you to draw your own Mona Lisa and the walls are lined with fun Mona Lisa art; Mona with a mustache, Mona with a... etc. Try the Mardi Gras Pasta if you want Italian food New Orleans style! Drinks & Nightlife

Theres an entire block of Frenchmen St. here that is mostly music clubs. If you are unfamiliar with the specific bands you want to see, my recommendation is to just walk down the street and when you hear something you like just walk in. Most of the clubs have no cover charge. Maison is one of the bigger clubs on the street and has two stages. If you get a chance I recommend seeing the Brassaholics, they are more on an energetic gogo Brass funk band and they like to do their own version of some classics like Nirvana.

I actually do not recommend this museum, I thought it was really lame. It seemed like more of an advertisement for Popeyes Fried Chicken than anything else (they literally had a whole wing dedicated to Popeyes). If you are really interested in the history of Southern food then I would say go for it though.
