A nice aquarium with some fascinating things to see, especially the jellyfish. But if you are jammed for time and have to choose between the aquarium and seeing the sea lions on the bayfront at Port Dock One, we'd go for the sea lions any day of the week. It's a site you'll never see anywhere else, and it's totally free.

An essential stop for anyone visiting the coast of Oregon. This is where the sea lions hang out on the bayfront of Newport. The sea lions are stretching out on docks that are maybe ten yards away from you. They are very loud, and it's totally free. Oregon State Univ has a webcam of the sea lions at Port Doc One--this is exactly where you'll be standing: http://webcam.oregonstate.edu/sealion/ (If AirBnB won't allow URLs, put in the words webcam dot oregonstate dot edu forward slash sealion forward slash.)

Not sure what the Sand Dunes Frontier is, but the drive along Highway 101 from Waldport to Florence is spectacular. Takes about 45 minute to an hour. You'll go by Cape Perpetua and then the lighthouse. The view of the beaches and dunes of Florence is spectacular as you go just past the Sea Lion Caves. And the sand dunes in Florence are pretty amazing.

Sea Rock is located about 5 miles north of Waldport on Hwy 101. It has wonderful tidal pools to explore. Check the tidal guide for low tide. Low tide is the best time to visit tidal pools. Remember - never turn your back to the ocean.
