Its a must go place when you visit Mombasa. It's always packed, so be there at 12:30pm, no reservations required. If you find it's full, you can always try Barka restaurant (not far from Tarboush) which has similar Swahili meals.

When you are done with shopping in the mall and just want to take a cup of coffee or just take a breather, then Cafesserie is a great place. It is in City Mall in Nyali, one of 2 largest malls in the Nyali area and one of the best coffee shops in Mombasa.

This is street food at it's best. During the peak season which is in the months of April, August , November and December, Pirates beach is usually packed, the food place is in make shift stands. You can enjoy seafood mainly fish caught fresh from the ocean, there are Yucca fries, coconut water and more.

This is among the best restaurants in Mombasa, there is an ice cream parlor, restaurant, water sports, motorbikes and there is a night club. They have the best seafood, its all the Mombasa fun rolled into one place.

Bars and Clubs are plenty in Mombasa, from the city centre to Nyali to Mtwapa.
Great music, there is a bit of room to dance but if you would like to catch up with the local nightlife scene, this is a nice place. Fridays and Saturdays are the busiest especially at the end of the month.

Arts & Culture
The Swahili culture is from a mixture of Arab and Bantu African culture. Mombasa was a hub in the 12th century because of it's ports. This culture was also influenced by the Portuguese, you can learn more about the culture by visiting 2 historical places, Old Town and Fort Jesus.
It represents the Swahili culture, they have beautiful carved doors. Its characterized by narrow streets and lovely intricate doors. If you love architecture, this is the time to unleash your camera, if you love shopping for antiques, there are shops and souvenirs.
