The National botanical gardens are simply stunning. One of my favourite spots in Cape Town. A wonderful way to relax amidst nature with a picnic basket, wine and some friends. Also good for concerts.

Right along the beach promenade, a 3 min walk from our house, lies this colonial institution. It’s great for drinks/lunch and quick bites on the front terrace, but also wonderful for a quick breakfast;/coffee stop after a promenade run. They also do a great Sunday Jazz brunch.
It’s even a stop along the bus route for the Sightseeing tour bus,
making it the nearest stop (Winchester Mansions) you would hop off as well to get to back to the house if ever you decide to do a tour of the Atlantic seaboard by bus.

SA’s no. 1 Third wave coffee bar and culinary kitchen. Really great coffee and even better food. It’s one of the best coffee places in Cape Town. I’d also recommend it for good breakfasts and lunches. About a 5 min walk from the house.

If you don’t want to venture too far, this is a simple but good family style Italian restaurant around the corner from our house. A 5 min walk away on the Main Road to the left. Inexpensive and good pizza and pasta. Family friendly and wonderful ambience.

For a cool & stylish night out, try this wonderful restaurant. The space offers panoramic views over Cape Town and is stunning. The food, described as a rollercoaster of flavours, is excellent too. Book very well in advance. Not sure if this place is kid friendly though. But a wonderful experience, get someone to babysit.
