(The goat cheese and chopped roasted red pepper is our favorite) Also a crazy popular place so expect a wait on weekends--worth it!

The hikes from this entrance are easy to moderate and allow lots of opportunities for photos and wildlife as well as great specimens of cacti. Go in the spring to see the cactus blooming. As always, when hiking in our dry climate, bring twice as much water as you think you will need--or three times. Assisted rescues on hiking trails in the Phoenix area are common because visitors misjudge their water needs.
