it's not a short walk, but within a walking distance from the home. good place to run to, around and from. they have off leash hours for dogs (around sunset). I would recommend walking down myrtle or dekalb one way (both have food options along the way) and taking willoughby the other way (beautiful tree lined blocks and brownstones).

Largest park in Brooklyn (designed by the same person who did Central Park). Great place to enjoy short trails, run, fly a kite, bike or picnic. Check their website for free concerts from major and local artists. Also near Botanical Gardens and Brooklyn Public Library.
