Sightseeing
Don’t forget to check out Centennial Park home of the largest “Mudcat” in the world. (Our town is a popular fishing destination were they catch a lot of mudcat fish and thus it became our local mascot.)
Also in the park is one of the largest sculptures created in 1967 by a famous Canadian Artist, “Elizabeth Holbrook”. The 10 plaques depicting local way of life were framing a water fountain. In 2017 the park has undergone a restoration project in which the sculptures were repaired by Christian Corbett the only protégé of Elizabeth Holbrook and the fountain structure was turned into a garden. Also enjoy a hike on the trails at the Thompson Creek Eco Centre with trails thru the Carolinian Forest and grasslands. Visit the Historical 160 year old Heritage Tree on the trail.
