It's been a 24+ year staple of our having good food at reasonable prices. The lunch menu is quite varied. The meals have flavor and I haven't found another Chinese Restaurant I like better! On Saturday mornings, they serve a buffet with a limited menu. Good way to try different things.

Even though I am allergic to tomatoes and citrus fruits, they always have good food to eat. Great wait staff and I have had repeat travellers who return again and again.

From March to October, this is a local (and area) favorite - especially when they are serving their famous lemon ice cream! Nice place to eat diner style food and good ice cream. Chocolate, strawberry and black cherry are the other three types of ice cream. Different one each week. Want to know if your favorite is being served - check the cones out front.

New American restaurant that is open all year round. Victor has been successful with his Mexican Restaurant, Las Margauritas for many years. Good food.

They are about 30 minutes from the house. In October, they have a 3 day festival at the Apple Orchard. They sell the best apple cider (I get mine mixed - 1/2 hot and 1/2 cold)!! It is even available in some local stores - Fareway, HyVee in both Carroll and Jefferson. Even without the festival, there are a lot of activities - corn maze, pumpkin patch, bounce pillow, hamster wheels. They have a store and sell the best caramel apples! Been going there for years and still keep going back. If you go, try to find Jerry or Cindy and tell them that Cindi Van Horn said Hi!

Across the highway north of the swimming pool in Glidden is the Butterfly garden. It is a paved trail that the locals use for safe biking, walking. I believe it is about 2 miles if you take all the arrowed pavement.

Ride the glass elevator to the top. On a clear day, you can see several surrounding communities. About 20 minute drive from the Airbnb.

When travelling with small children, make different bags with like items for them to play with. Rotate the bags through the travel time in the car. I once made 13 bags with cars in one, blocks in another, etc. We thought too many and only took 6 on the trip. About an hour out, my husband said we needed more "bags" to occupy our one year old. The floor on the car was rebagged!
