This is THE place to be in the summer during the festival as it is right opposite the festival halls and full of artists and guests alike. When the tables are all full the guests come anyway and stand in the street between the restaurant and its lovely trestle tables opposite to drink a glass of wine with friends and meet others. The lady steak is divine!

They say that 40% of all business in Salzburg is done in Café Bazar. We locals say the walls have ears! No problem for you on your holidays - just go and enjoy a coffee under the leafy chestnut trees on the terrace with a glorious view over the Salzach river to the Old Town.

If you're one of those people who loves going into a restaurant and just being served what's on that day, this is the place for you. Even the wine has no label. The food is great, well worth the risk of not looking at a menu!

Arguably the finest restaurant in Salzburg, run by the charming Sybille and Richard Brunnauer. He's a fabulous cook and will spoil you rotten from behind the scenes whilst Sybille and her staff look after you with verve and aplomb at your table. For special occasions worth every penny, so if you have something to celebrate this is your restaurant! Lunches also lovely - and very reasonably priced. This restaurant has moved to Fürstenallee 5 and is no longer in the Augustinergasse. Please book online!
