If you are looking for great Cuban food and you don't feel like driving to Versailles, then this is the place! You can also get breakfast here. They offer a great Cuban breakfast special: Cuban Coffee, cuban toast, eggs, sausage and juice is usually under $5.00 (best kept secret in town, but you have to make it before 11am). If you just want to grab a cafecito Cubano (cortadito, colada, cafe con leche) go to the outside window and spend some time watching the salsa dancers from Ball and Chain right across the street or go to Domino Park and see the Cuban domino players putting the latin fire in the game. The best Indi movie theater is next door! So many places to see in one corner.

You know you've hit the spot when you see a giant balanced ice cream cone on the side of the building. Located in the heart of Miami's Little Havana neighborhood. This Ice cream sweet spot doesn't sell your ordinary Ice cream. The flavors here have names like: Abuela Maria (It has Maria cookies, chunks of guava etc), Cafe con leche, Mango, Maracuya, etc. They create artisanal gourmet ice creams and sorbets in tropical flavors. Across the street there is a great movie Theater that shows great Indi and international films and next to it is Domino Park.

At Little Haiti's Fiorito, food is cooked and served by the owners, a rarity in our chef-idolizing town. Brothers Maximiliano and Cristian Alvarez gutted a Haitian cafeteria and filled it with coiled light bulbs, red-brick walls, and photographs. Cristian reigns from the kitchen. Maximiliano helms the front of the house as runner, busboy, server, and, occasionally, sommelier. Things can move slowly, but don't mind the wait. Try the simple salad with arugula, pickled cabbage, and cherry tomatoes, plopped atop pan-seared Pacific corvina, its flaky flesh steaming and dripping. Get the homemade flan served with a dollop of dulce de leche. It's all delicious, so take your time. After all, a meal at Fiorito is nicest when you forget your watch.

The Design District gets a fresh slap of inexpensive goodness thanks to Lemoni Cafe and its smoothies, veggie-packed salads, and word-of-mouth-hyped paninis. While you mooch the free Wi-Fi, munch on paninis such as the Lemoni Supremo, with marinated chicken, pesto, Brie, and cherry tomatoes, or the Mediterraneo, with spinach, olives, tomatoes, and chicken melded together with melted feta cheese. Another menu standout is the tiramisu, courtesy of Argentine Eugenia's Italian grandfather's secret recipe.

It's got the casual, been-there-forever feel of a neighborhood hangout. The green-and-brown color scheme is oddly appealing, and the place looks bright and friendly. Diner ambiance minus the dinginess. No need to settle for a table and chairs -- it's all booths. And breakfast, naturally, is served all day, featuring monster omelets and refreshing honesty from the waitstaff: "Have the hash browns. The home fries have been sitting all morning." Philly cheesesteak for Saturday lunch, tuna melt, you know the drill -- or wait, maybe you don't. There's so few true diners in this town, you might think it's a new concept. But look at the pics on the wall -- new it ain't, thank goodness.
