No trip to the Bay Area would be complete without visiting the redwood forests! For nature-lovers, this is an absolute must-see. It’s a bit of a drive to get to this park, but it’s totally worth it. This state park is home to over 40 acres of old-growth redwood trees, and it contains some of the tallest and oldest trees in the entire world. In the early 1900s, Teddy Roosevelt visited this area and helped spur an initiative to protect the trees. They are one of the most spectacular natural species in the entire United States and the Bay Area is one of the best places to see them.

Okay, hear us out… I know it sounds crazy, but you’re in Silicon Valley, so why not check out the garage that started it all? Way back in 1939, Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard started their business in the garage when they built an audio oscillator that was purchased by Disney. They started with only $538 dollars to their name, but the empire they built, Hewlett-Packard today, is now worth about $30 billion. Because of their work in this garage, Silicon Valley exists today!
