Love this place for their margaritas! My favorite: Swirl margarita (lime margarita with sangria). Food is okay here, but definitely worth a stop for one margarita. Be careful, more than one margarita can make you pretty sloppy!

The meatball with spazal is delicious as well. It has a great German feel and hosts musical entertainment from time to time. Very busy on the weekends, but the outdoor sitting area is big with multiple picnic tables. They allow dogs in the outdoor area too which is a big plus!

Wonderful little German restaurant. All dishes are very well done and have a German flare. It is slightly upscale and quiet, so not great for little ones. It is very small and quite busy, so it may be best to call for a reservation.

This place is an excellent little bakery that also serves yummy crepes and paninis. Very delicious and a super cute and friendly environment.

Old local favorite for a great burger! The bar atmosphere in the back is pretty nice too. Nice outdoor area for kids to run around while you sip on your favorite beverage. They usually have bands booked every weekend.

Sightseeing
Wonderful place to take the kiddos for a day at the pool. There is a lap pool and a natural pool which can be pretty refreshing. I used to take my kids fishing for crawfish here when they were little. We fed the ducks and the deer, but I believe you are not allowed to feed the wildlife anymore. There is a small passenger train that runs for the little ones which is pretty fun for them. Every Thursday during the summer months, there is a band that plays here and it is free.

This is a beautiful drive from New Braunfels to Sattler. There are many camping areas along the river. This is the river that runs through New Braunfels and is very popular for tubing. There are many tubing outfitters in the area that have points of entry and will pick you up at the end of your float. They love what they do and they have wonderful horses for trail rides. I have seen them at Hancock trail up at Canyon Lake where they have met guests with the horses and take them on a most enjoyable ride around the lake.

This guy is just a couple doors down from Brodie’s bungalow. I believe he can put in up at the boat ramps and you can kayak to Brodie’s directly. Be aware that there is no shade on Lake Dunlap due to its current state so make sure you wear sun screen and take water.
