Take a slow and easy stroll through 11 different gardens all in one lovely lakeside location. This is an easy and relaxed place with plenty of nooks to sit and enjoy the Oakland sunshine, birds chirping & butterflies fluttering gently by. We love that it's never crowded (unless there's an event) and we also appreciate the community-run feel of the place.
My favorite gardens here include the Japanese Bonsai Garden, the Edible Garden, the Pollinator Garden, and the Sensory Garden. What will be your favorites?

Known mostly by local, this shop is a fresh find! The owner is more like a curator. She used to be a designer for Levi Strausse before opening her own place. An elegant, clean mix of new and gentle vintage & one of a kind pieces. While not overly trendy, her curation captures a relevant vein of Oakland style.
The shop is a 10 minute walk from here on Grand Avenue just before Broadway. It also happens to be located just doors down from Farley's coffee house/magazine market (we suggest you try their marvelous mocha before popping into Own n Wood!)
