For a special seafood experience, visit “De Vette Mossel”, +-65km from Sedgefield in the direction of Mossel Bay. Advance reservation is a necessity especially during peak season and the restaurant is not open daily so phone +27 63 6703666 to check dates. The menu is a 10-course meal consisting of fresh seafood (except for 1 meat dish) all freshly cooked on open fires. You need to take your own drinks (there is no bar), glasses and cash to pay.

N2If you are staying over a weekend, the Wild Oats Market is a must visit which opens early on a Saturday morning (from 7am) where you can enjoy breakfast, coffee, cakes etc. You will also find local produce and souvenirs / arts & crafts. I have had the best omelette ever at the Omelette stand – try the Gourmet Special for R45 each.
Enjoy Lunch at Salina’s in Wilderness for delicious, fresh food with a beautiful view. Open from 11:00 – 22:00 daily. They specialise in seafood but their pork ribs are my favourite!

Walk from the Swartvlei beach to Gericke’s Piont for snorkelling / rock pool swimming. Park at the beach parking and walk +- 1km on the beach to the right-hand side. Best time to visit is during low-tide.

Nearby these parks you will also find a snake park and an elephant sanctuary.
