This is a MUST TRY for foodies -- many Louisvillians consider it to be the best (or at least one of the top 3) restaurants in Louisville. Honestly, everything there is fabulous, but I especially recommend the Salbutes appetizer. Reservations aren't required but are definitely a good idea on weekends and/or for larger groups. (Over Derby, reserve far ahead of time.)

A Germantown Favorite, especially for meat-eaters. If you're not sure whether or not you like German food, you definitely will after eating here! (However, if you're both gluten-free and vegetarian, there won't be much on the menu for you.) And it's within easy walking distance of my house.

An adorable, old-timey, neighborhood-y, but also funky and fun bar within close walking distance. It's my favorite drink spot in Louisville. It's pretty chill on weeknights but busy on weekends.

This is a hidden gem! Literally, you have to know it's there because the sign is tiny and really hard to see unless you're standing right in front of it. It has a speak-easy feel, super-dark and atmospheric inside, very comfortable seating and amazing cocktails. This is the perfect date spot. Not good for large groups, as it's very small inside.
