Sightseeing
This village is extremely cute and often named The Venice of the Netherlands. The village exists of very pretty farmhouses that are all connected with little canals. You can easily rent tiny boat here, be a real captain and explore the village and lakes from the water. Be aware that it can get very crowded here on Saturdays and Sundays.

This is the biggest national park of the Netherlands, a real nice place to explore by bicycle or on foot. From Wijhe it is easy to reach via a little ferry, which will bring you to the other side of the IJssel river.

This is the biggest national park of the Netherlands, a real nice place to explore by bicycle or on foot. From Wijhe it is easy to reach via a little ferry, which will bring you to the other side of the IJssel river.
You will find the IJssel river right next to the house. The dike is actually the end of my garden and on top of this dike is a perfect little road which is only accessible for pedestrians and cyclists. During the walk on this dike you will have brilliant views of the nature around the river, the national park on the other side, many kinds of birds, cows, sunsets and obviously the river itself. Great for walking and cycling.

This well known museum has a huge collection of fine arts and temporary exhibitions. The building itself, in the Zwolle city centre, is already something to admire. The former Palace of Justice has been given an huge dome recently, which makes it one of the architectural icons of Zwolle.
