This place is amazing. One of the smallest restaurants in Louisville packs the biggest punch when it comes to BBQ beef brisket, pulled pork, ribs, mac & cheese, and one of the best burgers you can get around here. Even the Garcia Veggie burger is great! Be sure to get a seasonal salad, mac & cheese balls or a bacon topped brownie!

Just 2 blocks away… It is simply one of the best bakeries in town, much less in the neighborhood. Expect wonderful culinary creations that are spot on to go with an espresso or chi latte. A little pricy but totally worth it!

Soul food at its best! Close to home and open late. But go early for the freshest Spicy fried chicken, wedges, spicy greens and don't forget the peach cobbler!

Green River style as David says… is the breading he uses which is peppery and has cornmeal in it. The fish house is a great seafood place, reasonably priced and cooked to order. They make their own tartar sauces which are available for sale in area groceries as well as his restaurant.
Only on weekends they are open as Cafe Beignet, serving beignets, omelets, potatoes & chicory coffee.

Wick's has been serving up one of the best pizzas in town for upwards of 30 years now. They deliver, but be sure to enjoy the 3 buildings they take up. The restaurant side, pub side and live music side have plenty to offer different times of day. Its a little too sports bar for me sometimes because I'm not into ball sports much but I've had friends play live music there and had a great time drinking good beer and having great pizza close to home.

This place is a gem. A wonderful & authentic deli with the best tasting goodies. Choose from an array of sandwiches and soups, sodas and sweets!

The bourdon and beer selection is hard to beat with daily craft beer specials. On wednesday night bicycles can park inside.

Perhaps the best local brewery in town, Monnik's beer could be tasted alongside the best beer in the country. Their food is also some of the best pub fare in Germantown.

Parks & Nature
One of louisville's many Olmsted parks but one of the 3 largest parks in the city. Plenty of trails for hiking and mountain biking (you can rent MTBs at On Your Left Cycles, just 6 or 7 blocks away). Lots of sightseeing in a serene setting. Golf too! Cherokee park is about 3 miles away, 15 minutes by bike, 25 on foot & 5 minute drive from out house.

What used to be an industrial wasteland is now a privately funded Public park which extends from Downtown Louisville and the Belvedere where the Belle Of Louisville is located, east to frankfort avenue along the Louisville waterfront.

Be sure to visit the Falls of the Ohio state park for the largest exposed fossil bed in north America, best viewed in summer and fall when river levels are the lowest. There is a wonderful museum, trails for hiking and viewing of fossils out on the fossil bed. A wonderful place and not too well known. Serene!

Best view of the city. You may have to walk to the top as some days the road is closed for bikes and pedestrians. Very close to Vietnam Kitchen, one of my favorite restaurants!
