This is one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle. House-made pasta coupled with great wine selection and other Italian complements. They reserve space for walk-ins so this is a great option if you haven't planned ahead on a Friday/Saturday evening.

Because you shouldn't come to Seattle and go to Starbucks. Avoid Uptown Coffee as well. In my opinion it is just as bad as Starbucks

Outstanding gourmet pizza. Quiet restaurant along Alki Beach. If you have the time, give yourself an hour or two before your reservation to walk the beach. Peaceful scene with expansive views of the Sound and Olympics.

Awesome Dumpling spot in International District. Their dumplings are some of the best in the city, and pretty reasonably priced. International District (ID) is a multi-ethnic neighborhood and the best place to find Asian restaurants and Bars.

Great restaurant nestled in South Lake Union. Stop in for a bite and then if the weather is nice, wander down to the water; you're only 10 mins away.

Drinks & Nightlife
Less a "Bar" and more mellow cocktail destination. Dim lights, no TVs, music that creates and ambiance without overpowering conversation. Great night cap.

Really fun spot tucked in the middle of Capitol Hill. The neighborhood itself is awesome and Capital Cider has a nice ambiance. They have lots of board games, live piano accompaniment if you go at the right time and of course, awesome craft Cider.

Seattle is known for Breweries and Stoup is one of my favorites. There are at least 3 other Breweries nearby so you could easily spend an entire afternoon bouncing between them.

Like Stoup, this is great Brewery to stop by if you are in the area and looking for good local beer

The Pink Door has a bit of everything. The Dinner menu is great and they will often have live music playing in the front room. Check their schedule! They have all sorts of entertainment that will vary almost daily.
Don't get lost like I did. The entrance is literally an unmarked Pink door.

Bar/Music Venue...up until early evening this is a great place to hang and enjoy a cocktail over good conversation. Around 8 on the weekend the vibe does a 180 and Speckled turns into a pretty high energy dance floor (on the 2nd floor, you can still hang on the 1st, albeit at a slightly higher volume).

My favorite Jazz club in the city. It's a "Listening Club" so expect to go and enjoy the music, but most artists will take multiple extended breaks to allow for table conversation. Usually no need to buy tickets in advance although on Friday and Saturday night the wait for table can be long without a reservation. Well worth the wait!

If you are a fan of stand-up Comedy Underground is your spot! They always have a great line-up. Don't worry if you aren't familiar with the headliner. I have never been disappointed.

Sightseeing
Beautiful view of downtown! On a clear day, Mt. Rainier will be beautifully framed in the background. If you walk West on Highland Drive to the end of the block you will find a much more secluded overlook. The Sound will stretch into the distance and the Olympics will dominate the horizon.

Awesome park to walk around if it's nice. For a city park it feels incredibly expansive. Make sure if you go that you make it all the way down to the water, the view of the Olympic range on a clear day is incredible!
