You can walk to Rocky Bay also known as Omiha is the end of the line for the Number 2 bus. This small village set around a beautiful southern bay is the home to many artists and craft people. Boat owners also love this secluded part of the island. Close by there are tennis courts, children's playground and public toilets. The beach is just as the name suggests very rocky but a lovely spot to visit after going to the weekend cafe. You can also walk around the rocks at the very far left of the beach all the way back to the bottom of Whakanewha Regional Park and back up Eve’s track to the house.

The best spot for a long lunch Sunday! Located at the end of a country lane, Poderi Crisci is a family-owned vineyard and restaurant with Italian flair and a passion for traditional winemaking. For four generations the Crisci family have been immersed in the art of food and wine.Antonio, born and raised in Napoli, arrived in NZ in the early ’90s quickly making a name for himself in the Auckland scene with the establishment of Toto restaurant in Nelson Street. With his partner Vivienne Farnell they opened Non Solo Pizza in 1996, now an institution in Parnell. La Locanda Pored Crisco’s newly opened watering hole or such like establishment to quench ones thirst and satisfy ones appetite.

Enter the new and improved Charlie Farley’s — or just Charlie’s, as its new moniker reads — Onetangi Beach’s failsafe eatery. Here is where the crowds will descend in the abundant fine days of the coming months. Now owned, operated and reinvigorated by renowned restaurateur Richard Sigley, the Tropicana-inspired beachfront spot, with its front-row view of the beach, sets the scene for an array of crowd-pleasing dishes. Fresh Te Matuku oysters give way to vibrant tuna poke bowls, garlic dusted calamari, your classic wagyu ‘n’ cheeseburgers (NB everything is just a little bit elevated) and, of course, a truly delectable offering of fish and chips. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Relaxed island-style eating with plates and high tea to share with family and friends. Great views and you can take the free shuttle to the winery direct then it’s only a short taxi to our property. In fact you can actually walk to this winery - approx. 50mins to 60 min walk. Call them as sometimes they can even pick you up in their shuttle for a small cost.
