On the national registry of historic places, over 100 acres of formal gardens, green space, walking paths, Pond House Cafe, and pond. The rose gardens and central gazebo are breathtaking. Best part, besides quintessential Central Connecticut atmosphere is that the park is free and open 365 days of the year.

Private liberal arts college, founded in 1823, second oldest only to Yale University in Connecticut. Open Campus allows for people to walk among stunning architecture. Very Harry Potter esque.

Boat launch for only like 8 dollars, park is beautiful and features one of the the oldest building related to the original settlement of the Wethersfield colony around 1649. This park is walkable from downtown Old Wethersfield. Great place to picnic.

Free, but etremely limited parking, maybe 75 spots. Fills quick. Swimming hole only. No motorized boats, but you can canoe or kayake or just lounge on a noodle. I have all the water toys you could want, just ask to borrow them!

The Wadsworth Atheneum opened in 1844 is is the oldest continuously operated public art museum in the United States. It is also on the National Registry of Historic Places. We sometimes go for after hour events here. Worth a visit if you have the time and need an indoor activity.
