Spa Thermal Park to Huka Falls is a popular walk inc. swim at Spa Thermal Park. For the more ambitious (keen walkers) at Huka Falls, you can keep walking to Aratiatia Dam.

You can kayak to the carvings (Taupo Kayaking Adventures or Canoe & Kayak), or take a scenic cruise - by charter or scenic cruise boat or yacht (Sail Barbary highly recommended). Take a fishing charter and add it to the experience of catching a Taupo trout!

Great spot for families. Children's playground, Rotary train ride ($2), giant chess game, Superloo (toilets/showers/changing facility). Extends to north domain for events, fairs etc - neighbouring Taupo Museum and the Rose Gardens. Great for chilling out with the kids, picnics etc.

At the end of Te Kopua Street is Te Kopua Reserve. Our in-house Acacia Bay map shows a walking track down to a private beach area and great swimming spot. Typically saved for the locals... we've let our guests know about it because the main Acacia Bay beach can sometimes get a little crowded. No kids? Swim here.

Natural thermal pools in stunning setting and NO KIDS ALLOWED! It's not only relaxing and peaceful, the waters are healing and therapeutic. You can also experience Maori massage, a geothermal walk etc... but the pools are a must!

Every Saturday - either at Riverside Park (Redoubt St) or sometimes on the lakefront at Northcroft Domain. A variety of stalls/crafts for sale etc, but we go for the food! Check out Volcanic Coffee!, the Smoke Pit (smoked pork!), Mussel Fritters!, the Crepe van!, Churros!, and most definitely Bamos! (the empanada van)!!
