Rufus Pucci Pizza

The pizzas are as good as ever, the crispy calamari starter is to die for (that dipping sauce!), the Sunday roasts are extravagant and the salads are named after Rufus's ex girlfriends. Old-fashioned fun, Chelsea-style. And don't forget to try a flaming Sambuca.

Bluebird Chelsea

The identities of Bluebird and Chelsea are now synonymous, and it's hard to imagine one without the other. Café, restaurant, bar, food store, wine cellar, florist and bakery: is there anything this place doesn't do? It manages to deliver most things to most people most of the time, so much so we're prepared to overlook the odd hiccup - service, for instance, is friendly, but sometimes distracted. It's open from 8am to midnight (1am at weekends), and their weekend brunch set menu is a steal at £22.50 for three courses.

Come for a weekday breakfast of superfood granola and Greek yoghurt, a weekend brunch of pancakes with berries, a great salad or burger for lunch any day or the famous seven-hour confit lamb for dinner of an evening. Tom's is your go-to restaurant with friends or when you're too tired to boil a kettle, let alone an egg. It now has five London branches, including Somerset House, St Katharine Docks, Canary Wharf and at HMS Belfast, but our heart belongs in Chelsea. Call us old-fashioned, or even shallow, but there's something about the Royal Borough.

Some tipples are inspired by Italian poets while others are like poetry, topped with lavender air or finished with petals.
