Home of the University of Virginia and close to Monticello, this is paradise for fans of Thomas Jefferson. Charlottesville's downtown Mall has great shopping and restaurants. Or, visit "The Corner" next to the University to sample some of the students' favorites. While you're in town, walk "The Lawn" by the Rotunda. It's truly a beautiful school.
