The town, although small boasts a wide variety of eating establishments. Most are owner run and we have NO chain brands here. Be sure to check on the recommendations personally as most places are closed on Sundays.

Only open during the day the Rambling Rose does incredible breakfasts and lunch options. A warm fire on the winter days is a sure fire winner.

Attractions
Montagu has a host of possibilities to entertain oneself with. Numerous wine farms are situated within 30 minutes from town, free tasting is the norm in the valley. Almost all Wine Farms have a restaurant available as well. Check online before arrival so as to not be disappointed. Montagu is a climbers and Hikers Mecca - more info on routes and climbs can be found at the Montagu Toursim Office. Every Saturday is the Town Market, a quaint and friendly affair, don't miss it. What we don't have are, Traffic jams, Malls, impatience and lack of civility.
A great 1,5 to 2 hour hike. Take water, be prepared and follow general precautions when hiking. Baboons are occasionally encountered. Do not feed, play or antagonise.

The original hot water springs in the valley, although it is stunning it can become VERY busy in season and over weekends. Onsite are braai facilities, put put, super tube, restaurants, take aways etc.
