The Aquarium restaurant is 6.5 miles from our location. You will dine surrounded by a 200,000 gallon tank which houses a wide variety of fish and other aquatic creatures. My favorite of these is the eels which hide in and out of the coral in the aquarium, and of course there are some majestic sharks that swim among the smaller fish. It's very exciting!

Rainforest Cafe is set up with jungle themed attractions complete with simulated thunderstorms and robotically animated animals. It is might prove a little juvenile for adult travelers, but it is great for kids and provides really solid food to go with the fun atmosphere.

A hip, modern take on Mexican food. This place comes highly recommended from some of my foodie friends.

This is one of our closest hot chicken places, and while it's not the most famous hot chicken restaurant, it has beat out many more well known hot chicken spots in taste tests held by the Tennessean news paper.

This is the historic home of our seventh President Andrew Jackson. It combines both the historic significance of his Presidency with thee more generalized history of what it was like working in an agrarian estate in the early 1800's.

Opryland Hotel, is a great place for seasonal sightseeing especially during the Christmas season. They have one of the best indoor Christmas light displays in the Middle Tennessee region, and they have a pretty impressive fountain show through out the year (at least when talking locally -> its no Bellagio)

The Nashville Zoo is a great place for some family fun and a bit of variety on your trip. Its got everything that you'd expect as far as animals go, and it even occasionally has some adult centered wine/alcoholic beverages nights to support animal charities!

Our local symphony does all of the classical music that you'd imagine, but they also do some great tribute concerts to everyone from their take on Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, to their renditions of Zelda Video Game Music or of Harry Potter Music. If you get the chance this can be a thoroughly enjoyable show!

1 Symphony PlOur local symphony does all of the classical music that you'd imagine, but they also do some great tribute concerts to everyone from their take on Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, to their renditions of Zelda Video Game Music or of Harry Potter Music. If you get the chance this can be a thoroughly enjoyable show!

Built to mark the state's hundredth birthday, the design was chosen as reference to the Nashville's nickname as the "Athens of the South". The Parthenon and Centennial Park can be seen in "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief"

Neighborhoods
This is a pretty quite neighborhood which is about half a mile (0.6) from Donelson Pike (our nearest major roadway). It is suitable for leisurely walking, but the closest bars and restaurants are all on Donelson Pike which is a solid 12-17minute walk.

Transit
The Music City Star is one of the cheapest ways to get into downtown quickly. It was a $2 ticket the last time that I checked and the RTA website estimates it at around a 19 minute trip!

Parks / Nature / Walking trails
This is one of the closest local parks. It features really nice rolling hills, picnic areas (with pavilions), and a fairly empty disc golf course. Its low key place to relax, if you don't feel like heading into the city.

There are paved Greenway walking / Bike Riding trails all around the city. This one and the Stewart's Ferry Trailhead are the closest. These are perfect for a relaxing day before heading into town.
