Walkable highlights in the neighborhood
There are a ton of great restaurants, cafes, and bars and a couple of parks within walking distance of our house. I've compiled a list of some of our favorites. There are few Indian places nearby and they are all good so I didn't specifically recommend one. It is also hard to go wrong with the Thai food in the area.
This place is great for savory and sweet pastries and coffee. They are famous for their "top tarts" which are basically giant home made pop tarts, but everything here is awesome!

James beard award winning chef Eduardo Jordan has 3 fantastic restaurants on 65th street within walking distance of our house. June baby is his take on southern food. Be prepared for a wait if you want to eat here. I suggest getting on the list and finding something else to do in the neighborhood to kill 2-hours while you wait.

Really you come here for the grain bowls which are reasonably priced and delicious. Whisky cocktails and home made bread often with unique grains are also highlights here.

Zouave is a hidden gem in the neighborhood offering Italian food with French and Algerian influence in a converted home. This is a family run restaurant with great atmosphere and outdoor seating when the weather is nice.

Toronado has some of the best selections of local and regional craft beer, a well stocked bar, and decadent comfort food.

Its a bookstore, its a cafe with decent work space, its a restaurant, its a pub with a good selection of local and regional craft beers on tap. The falafel sandwich and the meatball sandwich are my go-tos but the dips are all great too.

one of the best parks in Seattle. great if you need to get some exercise. From our house it is about 1 mile to the lake, 3miles around the lake, and 1 mile back making it a nice 5-mile circuit. Tons of places to stop and eat, drink, shop etc mostly on the north and east sides of the lake.

Green Lake
one of the best parks in Seattle. great if you need to get some exercise. From our house it is about 1 mile to the lake, 3miles around the lake, and 1 mile back making it a nice 5-mile circuit. Tons of places to stop and eat, drink, shop etc mostly on the north and east sides of the lake.
This is a beautiful park just a few blocks south of our house that has tons trails through a forest at the bottom of the Ravenna Creek Ravine. This place can make you forget you are in the city at all. Usually best to go in the daytime. I like to access the part from 20th street which has a pedestrian bridge that goes over the ravine.
