SACCO'S BOWL: a Davis Square classic. You just can't beat old- timey candlepin bowling (a New England classic!) with modern day flatbread pizza and really good beer. It's a no-brainer. (You can get salad too)

Lunch/Coffee. Their breakfast burrito is my kinda yummy. Plus who can argue with cappuccino, a pool table, and a b/w photo booth. You have to hawk to score a table there though.

If you've just got to have pancakes and a jukebox with your regular coffee, do it old school at Kelly's. Basic, pastel and chrome, it's a diner. You know the drill.

Little known cafe at the Armory a short walk away. I think it's student run. They have wi-fi. If you're here in winter there's also a great farmer's market in the Armory building every Saturday until about 2pm.

There's one in Davis Square now!! It's ultra-clean fuel made to taste as good as food that's bad for you: veggies and sauces, nuts and cheese, and whole grains and legumes - all organic - basically what I cook at home but with a fantastic juice bar too! So so good.

The very beauty a New England Beach should be. What I grew up with. You can take the commuter rail there, and walk an easy 15 min through coastal mansion land to get there, but fair warning...I hear they now charge a walk-on fee.
