Popular Local Restaurants

All of these are no more than a 5 minute drive from our house. Believe it or not, but people come from far to visit some of the local eateries in the downtown area! Goshen is becoming a foodie haven.
This cute diner was featured on Diner, Drive Ins and Dives a few years ago. Prices are reasonable. The Philly Steak Sandwich and Spinach Salad are our favorites. The curly fries are amazing as well. Great pies for dessert. Very reasonably priced. Located on Main Street in Goshen.

We love this place for the lunch buffets especially. It's about $10 / person but well worth it. The food is thoughtfully prepared and scrumptious. Located in downtown Goshen.

We don't go here a lot because it's always so crowded, but it's crowded for a good reason. Cool space, great food, and good brews if you're into that kind of thing. Located next to the river. In the summer, there is often live outdoor music, which makes the lines and the crowds exponentially greater. But if you have time and want to try a great place, this won't disappoint. Tuesdays they serve the best Pad Thai you will ever have.

This place is a little pricey, but you won't find better Neapolitan style pizza. Everything on the menu is fresh and prepared right there. Limited outdoor seating. Can get really crowded on Friday or Saturday evenings. Great for lunch. The fig pizza is a must! It's a bit pricey, though, at around $23. I would say it's worth it. The bruschetta is also amazing. Located downtown Goshen.

This place is located in downtown. It's been around for a very long time and has that feel of walking back into another era. A great, casual and fairly inexpensive place for breakfast and lunch. They also make and sell their own chocolates on site.

This restaurant is in Middlebury, a scenic 15 minute drive away (Take CR 22 for the scenic route through Amish country). If Amish style comfort food is your thing, then you may like this. You can order off of the menu, or in the evenings they have a buffet full of fried chicken, noodles and mashed potatoes, stuffing, roast beef, salads, etc. The restaurant is located near a bunch of quaint shops.

We love this place! It is located along the river in South Bend, and the best part is the patio that overlooks the river. Often when we've gone, we have seen the Notre Dame rowing teams go by for their practice sessions. Be sure to go when the weather is good so you can sit outside.

This place is incredible. It's a fusion of all sorts of tastes and culinary delights. Great patio, great atmosphere, located next to the riverwalk in Mishawaka. Just a short 25 minute drive away and a great evening destination. It's a little pricey due to how uniquely prepared the food is.

Attached to this Elkhart-based supermarket is the best Mexican food around. Completely authentic and no-frills. We love the tacos and quesadillas. They don't serve chips and salsa, but that's not a big deal when the food is so tasty. Very reasonably priced. The supermarket has all kinds of fun and interesting items to choose from as well.

This is a deli and bakery and people drive from FAR to visit this Amish destination. Their rolls, donuts and baked goods are incredible. Lots of free samples, and free coffee. If you have extra time, drive on county roads (not the highways) to get there and you will get to see some of the most pristine and beautiful Amish properties imaginable. On the highways you can get there in 20 minutes. A little more for the back roads.

Lots of unique shops to see here. This used to be a place where they made burlap bags, as the name implies. Beautiful event center on the top floor. Located next to one of the most happening thrift stores you will ever see. All proceeds go for development work overseas.

This park was recently created around an old stone quarry. There's a nice walking trail that goes around the entire lake (former quarry) with nice park benches along the way to enjoy the views. Kayaks and canoes can be rented, although I would say the park is better enjoyed walking than boating given that the lake is fairly small.

Be sure to take a walk down historic 6th and 7th streets in Goshen. Parts of these streets still have the original brick on the street. Many beautiful, old homes line these maple tree-lined streets.
