My favorite restaurants

Came here for lunch with a friend on a Sunday, arrived early which was good as the restaurant was almost full, I think we got the last table. The staff were friendly and helpful. I had a wonderful galette with organic smoked trout, goat's cheese, spinach and almonds. My companion had an equally wonderful galette with mushroom, spinach, Fourme d'Ambert and pine nuts. We shared a litre of the dry house cider which was a perfect accompaniment, delightfully served in a ceramic jug with matching ceramic drinking bowls. My companion was able to eat a crepe for dessert, with lemon and sugar; she said it was perfect. I could only manage an infusion and was happy that they had limeflower tea. The atmosphere was convivial and the prices were reasonable. I will seek this place out next time I'm in Paris.

A very good Asian dinner, a little more refined than our usual canteen in Chinatown. As a starter, we enjoyed a salad of lemongrass sausage, delicious with a little sauce of chopped tomatoes a little up, and ravioli fries with pork. In the dish I tried the classic bò bún with beef and nêms, a safe bet that turns out to be very tasty and hearty. The chicken rice is also delicious, the dishes are garnished with cabbage, carrots, grilled garlic, coriander and fresh chives. The setting is nice, the service fast and attentive; we recommend with eyes closed!

Real good Neapolitan pizze: excellent dough, special mention to salsiccia e friarielli. Friendly welcome and casual, good cocktails, pretty deco. I often come with my family or my love for lunch on weekends and it's always nice. The view on the canal St Martin is awesome!

My Neighborhood

The tree-lined Saint-Martin canal is the heart of one of the most romantic and trendy neighborhoods of Paris. It is possible to observe boats sail quietly, surrounded by lovers or groups of friends resting on banks or bridges. The evening, banks are taken by storm by customers coming to have a glass of wine with their friends. When it's colder, people go to trendy bars, cozy restaurants and concert halls of the district. The most adventurous of you will discover more confidential sites in the neighboring lanes, be it bars local or small architectural wonders Futurists. With its heterogeneous population, this neighborhood enjoys a particular dynamism.

The covered market Saint Martin, is the angle of the streets of the Château d'Eau, at No. 33 and Bouchardon in the 10th arrondissement. When Préfet Haussmann, the creative demolisher, broke down the boulevard de Strasbourg in 1852, the only Saint Laurent market, which existed in the neighborhood, disappeared. Markets Saint Martin, there has been a lot since 1765, with various fortunes, several times displaced. The market, which we see today, dates from 1880, after the previous building had its roof collapsed in 1879. This market is built with a metal structure and cast iron pillars with stone facings for the main entrances. A canopy lightens rather narrow aisles. Here there are stands of all kinds, with food products, a café bar and a small restaurant, shops of home products, a florist, a laundry, etc. Shops have their windows accessible in both streets. The building is also composed of housing on the floors, with a fairly successful modern style. This market is absolutely not "tourist", more reason to taste the authentic side of a Parisian market, where the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Here we say hello when you arrive and the exchanges are friendly and the atmosphere relaxed, which changes us some street markets. It is open every day, except Monday, from 9h to 20h except Sunday from 9h to 14h. It is accessible by metro station "Château d'Eau" line 4, then take the rue du Château d'Eau to the east to 33.

Housed in the former convent of Recollets built in the seventeenth and eighteenth century, Cafe A is unique, in this lot of beautiful white massive stones. It is an arty haunt known to initiated Parisians, because you have to cross a gate, cross a courtyard lined with arcades to enter this exceptional place - now open until 2am from Monday to Saturday. This vast space furnished with many tables is decorated with works by young Parisian artists, the exhibitions being often renewed during the summer. But the real plus of this bar is its secret garden protected from the street by a wall: a vast poetic courtyard planted with old trees that takes bucolic accents in the middle of August. Sun loungers invite you to relax: you can enjoy a leisurely day in the sun on deckchairs or have a drink in the evening.

Excellent and demanding pastry specializing in KÄSEKUCHEN a kind of lighter cheesecake. We highly recommend the lemon poppy version, less dense than a cheesecake, the texture is creamy, melting, lemony and crispy in places, thanks to the poppy seeds introduced to the device. A clear success! 100% approved!

And three! The Saintes-Chéries, a pretty "girls' boutique" created by Marjorie Coste seven years ago, continues to gain ground. After a first address dedicated to the decoration, the accessories and the toys for children, she imagined with her husband two other neighboring shops: one specialized in the decoration of interior and the other upholstered with green plants, pots of flowers and sublime terrariums signed Adelaïde Avril.
